Importing coffee from Perú: logistics and Incoterms
Once you have chosen your coffee, logistics determine when and how it arrives. Here is how green coffee moves from Peru to your warehouse.
Ports and packing
Peruvian coffee typically exports through Callao (Lima) and Paita on the Pacific coast. Coffee is packed in 69 kg jute bags, often with GrainPro or vacuum liners.
Incoterms
Agree your Incoterm up front: FOB (loaded at the Peruvian port), CFR (freight to destination port included) or CIF (freight and insurance included).
Documentation
- Commercial invoice and packing list
- Bill of lading
- Certificate of origin
- Certificates for any certified coffee and phytosanitary documents as required
