peruano coffee grades explained

Peruvian green coffee is traded using grade names that describe defect tolerances and screen requirements. Here is how the main grades compare.
Grade 2 — top commercial
Grade 2 MCM (Máximo Cero Primarios) allows fewer than 23 defects per 300 g with no primary defects. Grade 2 MC permits up to 28 defects with less than 1% primaries. Both require screen 14+.
Grade 3 — value commercial
Grade 3 MC Menos (40–60 defects) and MC Santa Clara (100–120 defects) serve price-sensitive blends while maintaining a clean cup.
Blend grades
Mix Plus and Peruvian Mix offer flexible defect and screen windows for high-volume and industrial programs.
Request pricing of the grades you are comparing — cup and screen side by side is the best way to decide.

Can I mix grades in one container?
Yes — discuss your blend requirements and we will prepare accordingly.
